Reemployment Assistance Project

Disability Law Project

This Project represents elderly and disabled adults who have been denied Supplemental Security Income and Disability Insurance benefits in administrative hearings before the Social Security Administration. With the help of the project’s skilled attorneys, over 80% of benefit denials are reversed at the hearing level, bringing much needed cash and Medicaid benefits to these individuals.

This Project is funded by the Legal Services Corporation.

Community Tax Clinic

Low income taxpayers are the most highly audited group in the United States. Studies show that legal representation of low income taxpayers significantly increases positive outcomes in their cases. LSGMI’s comprehensive Clinic provides free tax advice and legal representation to resolve income tax controversies with the Internal Revenue Service. The Clinic assists in audits, appeals, tax litigation, and collection matters. Clinic staff also educates community providers and residents about a variety of tax issues including IRS Audits, Earned Income Tax Credit, Tax Consequences to Foreclosure, and Innocent/Injured Spouse Tax Relief.

This Project is funded in part by the Internal Revenue Service.
