
On October 16, 2012, Legal Services of Greater Miami, Inc. (LSGMI) installed new Board Officers and Board members at an event generously hosted by The Oceanaire Seafood Room in Mary Brickell Village.
The Honorable Judge John W. Thornton, Jr., of the Circuit Civil Division of Miami, did the honor of installing Board officers and members. Judge Thornton was also recognized with the Friend of Equal Justice award for his tireless work on behalf of the poverty community.
Lance Harke, Esq., of Harke Clasby & Bushman, L.L.P, was installed as Board President for a second term. Carlos Canino, Esq., of Stearns Weaver Miller Alhadeff & Sitterson, P.A., Yanick Landess representing Fanm Ayisyen Nan Miyami, Inc. (FANM), Jeffrey Crockett, Esq., of Coffey Burlington, L.L.P., and Nancy Ciampa, Esq., of Carlton Fields, P.A., were re-installed as First Vice-President, Second Vice-President, Treasurer, and Secretary, respectively.
Also installed were new Board members Teresa Enriquez, Esq., Andrea Fleming, Kevin P. Jacobs, Esq., George G. Mahfood, Esq., Nicole E. Mestre, Esq., Norissa Nelson, Eduardo X. Pereira, Esq., Effie D. Silva, Esq., Kymberlee Curry Smith, Esq., Claudia Tabares, and Alice White.
The following departing Board members were also acknowledged for their dedicated service to LSGMI: Gisela Munoz, Esq., of Hughes Hubbard & Reed, L.L.P., Olanike Adebayo, Esq., of the Office of the State Attorney, Shahab Alli, representing Homeless/Formerly Homeless Forum, Inc., Manuel Crespo, Esq., of Sanchez-Medina, Gonzalez, Quesada et al, Gary David Palmer, Esq., of Gary Palmer Attorney at Law, P.A., and Maria E. Lauredo, Esq., of the Public Defender’s Office.
