Earn Pro Bono Credit Hours by Volunteering at a Small Claims Clinic
Put Something Back, the DCBA Young Lawyers Section & Legal
Service of Greater Miami, Inc. co-sponsor bi-monthly Small Claims
Clinics. You can provide invaluable aid to the low income community in
Miami-Dade County and receive pro bono credit for your efforts.
All clinics take place at Legal Services, 3000 Biscayne Blvd., Suite 500,
from 5:00 - 8:00 p.m. on the second and fourth Thursday of each month. At the
clinics, pro se litigants meet for 20 minutes with a volunteer attorney who discusses the individual's case and prepares an outline telling them who to sue, where to file, how much to ask for and what will be needed to prove their case. Various self-help materials are also available at the clinic. Pro Bono attorneys do NOT represent the litigant in their small claims case, as the clinic is designed to assist litigants to proceed pro se.
Please sign up for as many dates as you are available.
You will receive 2-3 hours of pro bono credit for participating at each clinic.
